Czech mountain resorts promise a lot of fun in the snow for everyone. You can look forward to new ski lifts, slopes, restaurants as well as a ski mountaineering centre.

Winter is coming and with it the question of what mountains to go to in winter by renting car? To make the decision-making as easy as possible for you, we have prepared a list of the best Czech ski resorts where you can enjoy a whole assortment of novelties, in addition to quality ski slopes.

1.Špindlerův Mlýn Ski Resort: Ideal conditions for skiing

Where: Krkonoše
Špindlerův Mlýn in Krkonoše is one of the most famous and most often visited centres of winter sports in the Czech Republic. Špindlerův Mlýn Ski Resort operates five chair lifts and eleven ski lifts with a total of 25 kilometres of ski slopes, of which 95 percent of them are also treated with artificial snow. You can let off some steam in three snow parks, on a half-pipe and go cross-country skiing on 85 kilometres of cross-country skiing trails. This year, there is a new four-seat chair lift from Horní Mísečky to Medvědín, an extended and expanded ski slope in Horní Mísečky, and you will definitely enjoy the modernised restaurants.

2.Černá hora – Pec Ski Resort: Longer slopes and a new ski-pass

Where: Krkonoše Černá hora – Pec Ski Resort is the largest ski resort in the Czech Republic that primarily attracts skiers with their new ski-pass, thanks to which you can ski on 41 kilometres of slopes and ski trails. The Ski Resort consists of five connected resorts in Janské Lázně, Černý Důl, Svoboda nad Úpou, Velká Úpa and Pec pod Sněžkou. Other novelties include a modern four-seat lift in Černý Důl, a 600-metre-long ski slope from Pec nad Sněžkou to Javoří Důl, and the SkiTour Express bus, which connects to the resorts using SkiTour snowmobiles.

3.Rokytnice nad Jizerou: New ski mountaineering testing centre

Where: Krkonoše
The Rokytnice nad Jizerou Ski Resort can compare with the best ski resorts in the Czech Republic thanks to its area, ski slopes and facilities. Skiers can enjoy two ski lifts, six chair lifts and 14.5 kilometres of slopes of all difficulty levels. The ski slopes are up to 100 metres wide in some places, so carving and snowboard lovers can go wild. This year, a new ski mountaineering testing centre will open there, with special equipment rentals, testing and five special trails of all difficulty levels. Experienced mountain guides will be available to help beginners on the trails.

4.Klínovec Ski Resort: 15 new snow cannons

Where: Krušné hory
The  Klínovec Ski Resort is the largest and most modern ski resort. Together with the German resort in Fichtelberg they form InterSkiregion Fichtelberg-Klínovec, which offers 27 kilometres of ski slopes to skiers. This year’s novelties include 15 new snow cannons to improve the snow conditions and a top-quality brand new machine for treating ski slopes.

5.Lipno Ski Resort: Fun Park and Snow Park

Where: Šumava
A modern, five-star, family and kid-oriented resort – all of this is provided by the Šumava Lipno Ski Resort. The Ski Resort offers safe slopes with a total length of 11.6 kilometres and quality snow that can be comfortably accessed using three four-seat lifts. This year, a new Fun Park and Snow Park will open, as well as the metered slalom course.

6.Dolní Morava Relax & Sport Resort: Entertainment for kids

Where: Orlické hory / Jeseníky
The  Dolní Morava Ski Resort is located in the valley of Dolní Morava below the peak of Kralický Sněžník. The longer downhill slopes are the best you can find in the Czech Republic. Moreover, they have expanded the local kids’ ski park and a new zone for youngsters between 3 and 5 years of age has been developed. For those looking for a good dose of adrenaline, there is the FunLine and Cross Trail for the public with a snow park.
